A Short Description of the Aesthetics & Physical Education Stream

Introduction

The Aesthetics & Physical Education stream is a senior stream at Hawassa College of Teacher Education has been in existence for over twenty years. Initially, the department consisted of Health and Physical Education, but later integrated Music and Art departments to form the Aesthetics and Physical Education Stream. After some years, these departments became independent entities within the stream.   

Currently, the stream consists of two departments: Health & Physical Education and Performing & Visual Arts.

Resource Composition

  1. Human Resource

Presently, the stream has a total of 13 instructors: 6 in Physical Education and 7 in Performing and Visual Arts (4 female, 9 male)

  1. Material Resource

Both departments within the stream are well-equipped with resources. The Physical Education department has its own gymnasium, model room and ample play areas. The performing and Visual Arts department has Art and Music model rooms, exhibition   spaces, and variety of performance equipment.
